You know why I always smile? Because I know that in the summer I’ve made the best Move for my Career
Arturo Vidal has enjoyed an explosive start to life at Juventus following his summer arrival from Bayer Leverkusen. The Chilean has delighted the Bianconeri faithful with consistent displays at the heart of midfield, instantly winning a place in the fans’ hearts for his drive and dedication to the cause.

The 24-year-old – who capped off his debut in style with a stunning opening day goal against Parma – is known in his native Chile as the ‘Warrior’. No surprise really, given his bustling, all-action performances.

Vidal told Juventus Channel’s Filo Diretto: “I was given my nickname because of the way in which I play and how I read the game. The role I’ve been given perfectly suits my characteristics and people always tell me that they see a fighter in me. This can only give me pleasure. I’ve been bowled over by the passion for football displayed by the fans, along with their love for Juventus. Wherever we go it’s like we’re at home, and this makes it clear how big this club is.”

While the Bianconeri continue to win plaudits for their strong form – courtesy of an unbeaten run stretching back to May 2011 -, Vidal appreciates that there is still a long way to go.

“We’re working and we’re strong, but we need to take one step at a time,” warned the midfielder. “Now we’re in the hunt for the championship and the Coppa Italia and we mustn’t think about anything else. This is a difficult league, in which you’re required to always give 100 per cent, because there really are many strong sides. However, Juve are one of these. The group is our strength, not just for the dressing room spirit, but above all for the ability to pull in one direction towards the same objective.”

Vidal concluded by giving Antonio Conte a glowing appraisal. “He’s a very well prepared manager who works on every detail and trains the group like he played – always focused and with great passion.”
