TURIN, February 4, 2014 – A technical choice, almost painful but inevitable. Fabio Quagliarella has ended his international adventure with Juventus: certainly this season and quite possibly ever seen that will be sold in the summer. Quagliarella has been excluded from the UEFA list of Juventus: the regulation stipulates that each club can enter 21 players plus four (maximum) from the youth sector. For the Europa League Juventus has submitted a list of 23 players, of which only two (Marchisio and Giovinco) coming from the youth.
One of the reasons for the cut is then linked to the regulation. The other reason, however, is a clear choice technical of Antonio Conte: Quagliarella is now in fact the sixth striker in rose and was discarded for that. The hierarchy had been, among other things clarified just before the market closed. In practice, the arrival of Osvaldo pushed off the Uefa list Quagliarella and farther away from the field, even if Conte is always very honest in the choices, and then if were to see that Fabio deserves to play would not hesitate to play him as holder in the league.
Meanwhile, Beppe Bozzo, agent-lawyer of 31 year old Neapolitan striker, showed himself quite disappointed by the decision of the club champion of Italy: “Fabio deserved more respect – he explains – but evidently what has been given to Juve in recent years does not count so much . The boy has never done controversy, has always accepted without a murmur the many benches, despite often brilliant performance and a high scoring average, especially in the Champions League last season. In short, at every opportunity he put work ahead of everything, but if be quiet means to pass to fools … then no. “
He continues: “From Juventus, Fabio has received a lot, but also has given so much, even HIS KNEE,” he says, referring to the severe injury to the ligaments dated January 2011. “It might be a punishment for not accepting the recent proposals for transfer? I’m very sorry – said Bozzo -. In September we had an offer, but the coach did not give the consent, however in January the company was prepared to also loan: January, however, is a particular market, and Fabio preferred to remain, convinced that he can still give something to Juventus cause. He did not take well this choice is clear, but will continue to work as usual. “
In the era Conte, Quagliarella is the vice European top scorer with 6 goals (only Vidal, at 8, scored more) and is the most prolific striker (Llorente, Vucinic, Matri and Giovinco have scored 2 goals, Tevez is still dry).
