And the sixth piece has arrived. Beppe Marotta has kept the black and white jersey while Mirko Vucinic was shown to the cameras and flashbulbs. In the Juventus trophy room where the board is not allowed the Montenegrin striker was visibly moved.
Some Piedmont sources have timidly whispered that Antonio Conte had already prepared the backup plan in case his 4-2-4 was unenforceable. Unenforceable now, immediately, of course. And the backup plan is called 4-3-3, with a super-midfield formed by Marchisio and Vidal at the sides of Pirlo and 3 tenors of attack with Vucinic, Quagliarella and Matri. With Krasic ready to play with the chance to be the third striker to games in progress.
This may already be a possible tactic location for the former Roma player, completely at ease in a game with three men up front, as in the times of Zeman’s Lecce where he exploded many years ago.
Conversely, it is not a mystery, Conte had already suggested precisely for its 4-2-4. A unprejudiced structure that provides Vucinic and Krasic very wide, up the line of strikers, and Quagliarella and Matri to do the second and the first striker. Fantasy stuff, stuff that Antonio Conte is shamelessly trying to apply this Juve.
Needless to talk today about results, options, values and so on. The experiment has already begun and in these first friendlies appeared blatant the lack of professionals in the left-footed lane. We still have to wait with Pazienza. In fact it is said that Vucinic is the piece that represents the left winger. At least not permanently. I’m not completely set the assumptions that lead to Nani (complicated, if not impossible to get to the Portuguese) and Afellay (the injury could be a big discount on the tag), with Vargas and Perotti in the second wave.
Of course Vucinic is a tremendous acquisition (by value and economy): will not be the champion that lights the imagination of fans, but he really could be one of the most important hits in this market. Because beyond the outside side, Vucinic can safely operate as the first or second striker. His technical skills in one to one make a case for Conte and also the delivery capacity is not bad, given that he is not a striker like Trezeguet, just to be clear. The coexistence, in short, with the men already available to the Juve is not in question.
The pitch will have the last word.
