BIG PLANS“I’m very happy to be here. I like speaking the truth, in every aspect of life. When, at the end of the season, Juventus enquired about me, I immediately felt important. They were the only side that approached me in the right way, with conviction. And apart from that, there are big plans for the future here as well as a very strong squad. And, for someone like me, who always wants to play for a big club, you can’t get bigger than Juventus. Last season, once I’d made up my mind to leave inter, the club didn’t stand in my way at all. I really do believe that they have made a mistake. I’ve always given 100% everywhere I’ve played. Now, I’m here and I’m happy: it’s an important career choice for me. Should I score against inter I will celebrate. I’m a Juventus player now.”
TREBLE“To win the treble the right focus and the right mentality are fundamental. Juve have both. We know it won’t be easy to win the Champions League as there are a lot of good clubs in the competition, better sides than us. But we’re out to try to win all 3 of the competitions we’re playing in. Are Juve stronger than inter at the moment? I’m not keen on making comparisons, but here, they make you feel a much more valued player.”
SCUDETTI“Have Juve won 28 or 30 scudetti? The president has already said things the way they are…”
BRAZIL V ARGENTINAinter have chosen to allow all their Brazilian players to leave, most of them anyway, but to keep all their Argentine players. It can therefore be said that the ‘Argentine clan’ has come out on top in this battle: “Argentines and Brazilian are always competing against each other. Everywhere and in every single way of life. I believe it’s a political thing. I, along with all the Brazilian players at inter, have always had an excellent rapport with the Argentine players there. It was a decision that the club made, between two different styles of play and two different nationalities. We can say that, this time, Argentina have won the battle, but Brazil always win on the pitch.”
RESPECT“I believe that the most important thing in sport, as well as in life, is showing respect. Marchisio said he was happy that I’d signed for Juventus? It’s always good to know that your new teammates have a lot of respect for you. It makes me very proud.”
MOU AND MESSI“Mourinho? No, I haven’t heard from him and he hasn’t sent me an sms to congratulate me. The best forwards I’ve ever played against? Messi and Drogba.”
