Opposite poles
The final product is almost identical – Juventus won 5 games scoring 10 goals without conceding one, the Rome scoring 9 and conceding just one – but achieved by following two paths in many ways very different. Starting from the module adopted: if Allegri until now did not want to deviate from the 3-5-2 of Conte, Rudi Garcia continued along the dirt road from the early days of his inauguration in the capital reconfirming the 4-3-3. A module that makes the Bianconeri give aways less: Buffon has in fact an average of saves (regularly decisive) per match that stood at 1.6. De Sanctis, however, is engaged double (3.2 interventions every 90 ‘). Dead wrong, then, who would think that Juve relies too heavily making launches to restart the offensive maneuver : 54 long launches of Juventus contrast with the 67 launches of Rome (these and other statistics – such as the data relating to useful plays in the penalty area, 29 for Juve, 21 for the yellow and red – are in the image above).

Undisputed masters in Italy, Juventus and Roma are chasing the correct dimension in Europe. If in the championship the track on which are traveling is parallel, in UCL the Capitoline showed something better. True, as Buffon said ,“playing against Atletico is more difficult, because if  Manchester City has individualities of the first order, the Spaniards are more of a team,” but from the Spanish adventure of the  italian champions we would have expected something more. Especially from class players, Carlos Tevez and Arturo Vidal first of all, but also from Paul Pogba, a former child prodigy blossomed in a champion, from whom we now claim a consistent performance at the highest level.

The Cup is however (temporarily) stored, the present again has the contours of the Serie A. That competition that for three years now sees at the start twenty teams, and in which to win is always Juventus. Even in these first five rounds dragged to the sound of goals from Apache, like all Bianconeri at a alternating current in Europe, but almost always decisive in Italy. Four goals already scored by the Argentine, while among the Giallorossi the best scorer are the “grandson of Italy” Alessandro Florenzi and Mattia Destro with two goals. Three expected protagonists – among many others – in the game that may produce the first mini breakthrough of the season.
