TURIN, October 30, 2012 – At Juve’s door of today bears comparison with that of yesterday, less than embarking on slippery speeches, such as: “The current Buffon is at the same level as that of eight years ago? ». Forget it and move on to the defense. Facts and figures do not seem to be much difference, but with all due respect to Barzagli, Bonucci and Chiellini, the balance is still in favor of Thuram and Cannavaro. On the other hand we are talking about one able to score two goals in a semifinal of World Cup (eventually won, by the way), that is, Thuram. And another, Cannavaro, that winning the World Cup has won the rare right for a defender, also to raise the Ballon d’Or.

FIGHT BETWEEN GIANTS Different modules, hence the use of the wingers, but without getting bogged down in too many tactics disquisitions appears once more net the primacy of Capello’s Juve, stronger with another Ballon d’Or, Nedved, and Camoranesi. But where the current Italian champions have nothing to envy to their predecessors is in the middle ground. Which is a great merit, as the basis of comparison is given by the pair Emerson-Vieira. Extraordinary in terms of athletic and more than technically fitted, but the quality of Pirlo, combined with race and  micidial inserts of Vidal and Marchisio, it argues in favor of the ones of today.

FIGHTING ODDS  In the attack, the comparison can not even be drafted. Said that a strong department of Del Piero, Trezeguet and Ibrahimovic has few precedents in the history of football and not just the black and white, it is quite clear that the current Juve can and must grow much longer. Task to which the leadership will not shirk.
