This is MY DEFENSE! I have CREATED THE BEST DEFENSE in Serie A!
TURIN, Feb. 20, 2012 – Leaky last year. Iron today. Juventus targets the Scudetto and is preparing to land in Europe that matters thanks to the defense. A question of balance, tactical and psychological. Definitely not a question of people. Those are actually the same as last year. Barzagli, Bonucci and Chiellini, back there, three line, another small masterpiece of Antonio Conte, which in 3-5-2 has found “the perfect dress for my group.” A system that brings out the best features of the trio: in the middle, for example, Bonucci may rely speed, technique and timing; Chiellini, with broader shoulders covered, can work especially physical, by downloading power even in attack; Barzagli puts in the field wisdom, intelligence and tactical exactness present in quantities not found in other Italian defenders. Yeah, Andrea Barzagli, not surprisingly irreplaceable by Antonio Conte: 26 of 26 races (including Italy Cup), still holder, but never replaced. The 2006 world champion is the true teacher back there, “the key man of this Juventus,” according to Agnelli, one of the most incredible of the last business markets: last January, in fact, Marotta took him from Wolfsburg for just 300,000 euros.

Facts and figures … Juventus is the best defense in the league for disbandment: fourteen goals conceded in twenty-three matches, against twenty-one taken from Milan (second best ward of the tournament) in twenty-four games. Looking more closely in the folds of these figures, we find that only two teams have managed to score more than one goal to Juventus in the same match: Genoa (2-2 in Turin) and in the spectacular 3-3 of San Paolo  with blues lead 2-0 and 3-1. One thing unites then Juventus and AC Milan: both have in fact maintained inviolate the goal twelve times (but the banda Conte has a game in hand), none like them in the season. The longest period without conceding a goal, Gigi Buffon has lived from the goal of De Rossi (5 ‘ Roma-Juventus 1-1, 12 December) to the Cossu goal (48′ Juventus-Cagliari 1-1 on January 15 ). In between, the 2-0 trimmed in Novara, the 0-0 in the recovery of Udine and the outer 1-0 against Lecce. In total, 403 minutes without a goal to take for the goalie of the national team. Better have done only Cagliari (421 minutes from the fourth to ninth round) and Udinese with 406 minutes, again from the fourth to the ninth round.

The comparison. The fourteen goals conceded this season is finally a big step forward compared to last year at this time: then the banda Delneri had already taken 29 goals after 23 games. Better then Conte made Capello in 2005-2006 (13 goals taken), while the record of black and white in the era to win three points belongs to Ancelotti’s Juve : 1999-2000, just 11 goals.
