Below are standings of teams we and Milan play and other teams who may motivate our opponents and/or affect the outcome of the scudetto race in other ways (such as Inter battling with Lazio, Udinese, Roma, and Napoli for third place):

  • Cesena and Novara may lack motivation against us since it’s almost certain that they’ll be relegated.
  • Genoa will be fighting for survival and Bologna will be aiming to secure survival when Milan plays them.
  • Milan, overall, has not played well against the big teams this season. And, in derbies, form is irrelevant. They risk losing points against Inter, and Inter may have an extra incentive if they are still fighting for 3rd place then.
  • We play well in the big games. Plus, we’ll be playing Roma at home.
  • Juve’s collective fitness level and form have been outstanding since we played Genoa.

CONS

  • Milan plays only 1 game away from San Siro, while we have 3 away games.
  • Novara, most likely, will be all but relegated when Milan plays them.
  • Milan plays well against smaller teams, and they’ll face 5 smaller teams.  We play well against bigger teams and tend to draw a lot against the smaller ones.  We also play 5 smaller teams.
  • Lecce and Cagliari will likely be fighting for promotion when we face them.
  • Milan does not have anymore Champions League games to tire them out. There is only one more mid-week game (Round 36) till the end of the title race.
  • Some of Milan’s injured players are recovering back to fitness (Con unless more injuries occur.)
  • It is extremely difficult and rare to win 11 games in a row. Juve is likely to drop points.

UNKNOWNS

  • Any of Lecce, Cagliari, and Atalanta may already secure promotion by the time we play them, and thus, may lack motivation. They may also be fighting for survival. Same with Milan vs. Atalanta.
  • Siena may or may not be fighting for survival when Milan plays them.
  • Milan’s fitness. More players may or may not get injured. This will play a part in the outcome of the scudetto race.
