Antonio Conte has hailed Juve’s strong performance against Palermo. This afternoon saw the Bianconeri ran out 3-0 winners in a rampant display, delighting the fans with neat exchanges and attacking dominance.

And the manager immediately sought to praise his players for their application and attitude: “Everyone got straight back into it after the international break. This was a tricky game on paper and was the same on the pitch. If we weren’t focused, we’d could have been caught out. When you have to attack to find space, it’s natural that you leave yourselves exposed, but today Buffon was in great form. Today’s victory was fundamental to start this next series of games in the best possible way. Therefore, yesterday I wanted to give the players and the whole environment a clear message. This has been taken on board and today the crowd were again our twelfth man on the pitch. It’s too early to make judgements on how the league’s shaping up, we’ll have a closer look at the start of the second half of the season.”

Conte continued: “I must admit that we’re doing a good job. And I need to thank the lads who from the very first day have adopted my way of playing, an intense, technical, proactive style. I’m lucky enough to have a group containing players with the desire to cause surprises and play in a different way. The aim is to enjoy our play and encourage our fans to come to the stadium to see good football. The results are a consequence of all of this.”
