A new era at Juventus began ten years ago today. On 26th August 2001, a new look Bianconeri made their Serie A bow. Following a busy summer, which had brought Marcello Lippi back to the club and several new signings to Turin, it was back to business as usual.

Venezia made the trip to the Delle Alpi on the first day of the Serie A 2001/02 campaign. Juventus ran out 4-0 winners, sealed through Trezeguet and Del Piero doubles. Above all, this victory saw two much loved legends begin their careers with the Bianconeri: Gigi Buffon and Pavel Nedved. The goalkeeper kept a clean sheet in the first of his 361 games (and counting) in black and white. Nedved, meanwhile, made the first of 327 appearances.
